Silhouette Not Cutting Through Vinyl

Would love some help if anyone has advice.

Silhouette not cutting through vinyl. I sure hope it works. Blade fin is not aligned at 6 o clock the black fin on the ratchet blade housing must be pointed at the 6 o clock position or the silhouette will not cut correctly or at all unlock the lock and turn the blade until the fin is in the correct position. I m using my silhouette cameo to make vinyl letters to put on acrylic cups as party favors. One of the most common issues from silhouette cameo beginners is that their cameo 3 autoblade is cutting through the vinyl or other material and the backing.

Just wasted an entire sheet of vinyl because it s not cutting through all the way. I did not use the mat and i ve tried blade thickness of 1 2 and 3 including cutting. The end cap unscrews while it s cutting it won t automatically set itself to the cut settings in the send menu etc. 1 blade is not properly inserted and or locked down.

The same goes for the portrait 2 autoblade. If you are using the autoblade in your cameo 3 it s important to make sure it s loaded into the blade carriage correctly to ensure it cuts. If your silhouette stops cutting after it has started prior to fully completing the job and reports that the job is complete or if your silhouette cuts a stray line through the middle of the job generally a diagonal line then the issue probably that a larger packet of information is being pushed from the computer to your silhouette. If your silhouette cutting mat is brand new you may want to de stick the cutting mat somewhat by blotting it with a clean t shirt.

In most cases there are two quick fixes that will fix the issue and get you cutting successfully in a hurry. The fix is to move the paper or material on the cutting mat over and up just slightly so it covers the top and left edge of the grid line box right. I can use an older style ratchet blade in the adapter and it will cut fine. Place the vinyl onto the silhouette cutting mat with the backing paper side down onto the mat making sure the vinyl is covering the same area where the design is placed on the virtual mat in silhouette studio.

The most common cause for the silhouette cameo 3 not cutting or not cutting through is a problem with the blade specifically the autoblade. Blade obstructed if a piece of scrap material usually vinyl or paper is stuck on the blade it will cause cutting issues with your. To cut properly the blade must be pushed all the way down with no visible gap between the tool holder and the blade. Silhouette finally has more autoblades available and is sending me a new one.
